An Oasis of Peace

We’ve been trying to hold a trauma healing and free medical clinic for an area that was battered by violence last year (read more).

The morning we were going to start the trauma healing program, more violence broke out in town (read more), and we had to postpone.

We tried to reschedule again for last week in a different location, and even worse violence erupted just before the programs started. 23 believers were killed and dozens were burned out of their homes.

One of our local pastors who fled with his pregnant wife reported hearing gunshots until 2 am. But this same pastor was led by the Holy Spirit to preach at an unfinished church that weekend.

When he preached, four people gave their lives to Christ! The unfinished church’s name means “Peace Baptist Church.”
